Hotel Accommodation and Venue

The meeting will be held at the Hyatt Regency Place in Panama City, Panama

Book your discounted hotel reservation here

Space at the main hotel is limited and filling quickly, and participants are strongly encouraged to book accommodations as soon as possible to increase the likelihood of staying at the primary meeting venue. Once the Hyatt reaches capacity, additional hotel options within walking distance will be shared.

Meeting Dates and Times

Meeting activities begin at 12:00 PM. Participants should plan to arrive before this time.

Two full meeting days hosted in the Hyatt Regency, Panama City, Panama

Friday, March 20

Registered participants are invited to sign up for an optional field visit highlighting Panama’s rainforest ecosystems and their relationship to the Panama Canal. More details below.

Travel Tips

Panama is hot and humid during its dry season in March, with daytime temperatures around 90°F / 32°C and pleasant, slightly cooler evenings.

Bring a reusable water bottle. Water filling stations will be available throughout the meeting, and you’ll also need it if you’re joining the field trip.

To stay comfortable, pack breathable clothing such as linen, cotton, or moisture‑wicking fabrics, along with sunscreen and insect repellent.

Optional Field Trip

The visit begins with a guided walk along Pipeline Road in Soberanía National Park, offering opportunities to observe birds, monkeys, sloths, and other wildlife. Participants will then visit the Rainforest Discovery Center, including a climb to the canopy observation tower for panoramic jungle views. Those joining the full-day option will continue with a boat tour on Gatun Lake, exploring forested islands and observing monkeys, crocodiles, and tropical birds, while experiencing the contrast between pristine rainforest and the Panama Canal.

3:00 PM (full-day option)

Participants needing to return by noon may choose the half-day option.
